エル・サルバドル 2日め(脱日本246日め)・・・25.Enero de 2008(viernes) [El Salvador日記]
さすがにSan Salvador旧市内で観光客はまったく見掛けない(笑)ここのホテルにも外国人という外国人は宿泊してないし。。。まあ、新市街へ行けば外国人もいるのかも知れないが、少なくとも旧市街では皆無に近い。。。カメラをぶら下げた人間なんて何処にもいない。。。という訳で未だに一度もSan Salvador市内を撮影してません(根性なし??笑)。。。だって命よりカメラ大事です。。。カメラとPCなくして旅もない。。。生活していけませんからね(笑)。。。いつも通り朝7時に起床(なぜ??笑)。。。今日は朝からインターネットカフェへ。。。だが最初の2軒では繋がらない。。。理由は不明だが、回線としては繋がっているのに(PCのネットワーク表示も問題なし)なのにIE,OEとも繋がらない。。。で3軒目でようやく繋がったが、ケーブルが短くて机の下の膝の上の微妙なスペースで斜め見しながらしか打てない。。。しんどすぎっ!!
で、その後、どうにもこうにも使えないケータイのシムチップを交換にゆく。。。Guatemalaで買った時は、このままでEl SalvadorとHondulasで使えると言われていたのに、何処でも一切使えない。。。嘘つきばっかし(怒)。。。仕方なくともかくもMovister(回線会社)の店を探すが、Metro Centroという超大型ショッピングモールにあるとしか分からない。。。そこまでテクテク歩いてゆく。。。驚くような大きなショッピングモール。。。カナダで見たのと同じか、それ以上に大きいGuatemalaCityにもない規模。。。で、なんとかケータイのチップを交換。。。バカみたいなケータイに無駄遣いさせられっぱなし。。。デンワなんて大嫌いや。。。
で、そこからついでに昨日歩いたのとは反対の方向へと歩き始めたが、いつまで歩いても何もない。。。地図で場所を確認したら、さんざん歩いたにも関わらず、新市街まではまだ半分の距離。。。これはPC抱えて歩くのはムリと判断して引き返す。。。で、軽く食事して、一旦ホテルに帰る。。。灼熱の太陽から一時避難。。。昼寝(笑)。。。
あっ、途中でサルバドル人の大学生♂に道を尋ねられました(笑)。。。まあ、サングラス掛けてたからやと思いますが、これまでにも散々、サングラス掛けてると"ナニ人か分からない"と言われてたけど、まさか現地人に道を訊かれるとは!?(笑)ついでにTapachula～Copan～San Salvadorと暑くて陽射しの強い地域ばかり歩き倒しているこの2週間でまた随分と日焼けし始めました。。。MexicoはOaxacaくらいから日焼けしなくなって、段々と色白に戻りつつあったのですが(いつも夏に日焼けしても冬には白くなってしまう。女性には羨ましがられますが。。。)、ここへ来てどんどん焦げつつあるのが自分でも分かります。夕方には近所のTienda店のお婆ちゃんに"フィリピン人か?"とマイナーな人種を投げつけられました(笑←普通はチノ=中国人やからね)それだけ焼けたんやと思います。。。
午後、もう一度今度は旧市街にあるという観光案内所を探しに出掛ける。。。昨日は見つけられなかったが今日はあっさりと見つける。。。市内MAPを手に入れて、ガイドブックにあるリベルタ公園での週末ツアー窓口へ向かう。。。だが何処にもそんな窓口は存在しない。。。情報が古いのか(これだけ外国人がいないと意味ないしな)。。。仕方なくブラついているとFLMNの旗を公園にブラ下げている赤Tシャツ軍団(FLMNは赤が基調)に出会う。何か集会でもあるのか?と尋ねると毎週金曜日に演説があって、みんな集まってくるという。。。30分ほどで始まるというので待っていたが、ショボショボ。。。ただの街頭演説の類。。。そうやって闘争は過去のものとされてゆくのだなと一抹の寂しさを覚える。。。カメラも持ってなかったし。。。
ホテルへ帰って水シャワー浴びて。。。しかしCubaではあれほど好きだった水シャワーがやっぱりキツイ。。。いったい何が違うんだろ??ここでも一日の最高気温は30℃を越えている。湿度とかも関係あるんだろうか??確かに汗の引きが早いのは事実だ。太陽さえ浴びなければそこそこに涼しい(日陰など)。だから室内温度は随分違うんだろう。。。冷たくてブルッとくる(キンタ○縮み上がります。笑)再びグタッと横になって仮眠♪(何故??)。。。で、しばらくして今度は洗濯することに。。。久しぶりの手洗い。。。大きなたらいがないので、面倒臭いが、とにかく汗掻くので洗濯はこれから毎日の必須仕事。。。
すっかり暗くなってから晩飯を食いに出掛けるが大したもんはない。。。やはりここの人たちも晩はホットドッグくらいしか食べないので、屋台なんかもそんなもんだし、ビュッフェ形式の安食堂も売り切ればかり。。。ここの人たちの好物はpupusaププサと呼ばれるもの。トルティージャの中にフリホーレスとカッテージチーズを包んで焼いたもので、先日のBaleadaに似てなくもないが、断然あっちの方が美味しい。。。しかし何処の屋台もそればっかり。。。今夜はそれを2枚。。。寂しい食事やな。。。
今日もホテル探しをしたけれど何処も高い。。。おまけに今朝ホテルに"もう一泊"と支払いをしたら10$じゃなくて12$の勘違いでした(汗っ)。。。という訳で、夕方にオーナーを捕まえて値引き交渉♪1週間滞在するからと10$にして貰いました。。。しかしホテルを回っていても外国人観光客の姿は全く見掛けない。。。なのに高いのは何故??。。。どこもガラガラみたいなのに(ガラガラだから高いのか??)。。。新市街の状況を見ないとなんとも言えないけれど。。。ちょうどうちのホテルを境にしてSan Salvadorの街は旧市街と新市街に分かれている感じ。。。はっきり言ってしまえば貧しい町と裕福な町とに分かれている。。。東側には庶民のゴミゴミした町と小さな商店。。。西側には企業とPC電化製品などのおしゃれな店。。。少し離れた北西側に大型ショッピングモール。。。同じく少し離れた南西地域に高級住宅街とレストラン。。。
さて、明日はバスに乗って新市街目指して出掛けてみます♪
